Today, for your viewing pleasure(?) I recommend that all of we, the TT guys, view the first clip, entitled “Married vs. Single”. There might be something in that clip that you will recognize. The second clip (slide show) are additional remembrances of our past year and COVID-19.
Sorry, but my Post of March 10, 2021, became discombobulatedsomewhere in the process. I have revised it today. The first clip is a neat rendition of country music entitled “Forever Country”. The other clip is musical as well, a neat duo performance by Andreas Bocelli and Ed Sheeron (I had to ask Barrie who Ed Sheeron is).
I have two clips with this Post. The first clip depicts the volcano eruption of December 9, 2019, near White Island east of New Zealand. This is absolutely amazing, and scary. Can’t believe the camera worked 24 seconds after things subsided! At the beginning: Wait for 24 seconds when nature’s roar begins and, most importantly, another 24 seconds after the blackout. It appears that the video has ended, but it hasn’t … the screen clears to reveal the town devastation and the resulting flaming volcano This volcano eruption was filmed by an unmanned camera. Keep watching even after the screen goes black. The camera continues to transmit. The town had been evacuated, but unfortunately, a tour boat was at the island. The boat is not in the video. This extraordinary video, taken automatically from a home-installed camera, shows New Zealand’s White Island volcano eruption 9 Dec 2019, where 5 people died. More information and photoscan be had by googling “White Island 2019Volcano”.
The other clip is for all of our friends in the North and other places that see something known as “snow”.
Speechless once again. For all you dancers out there, the following clips are for you.At the end of the dance clips is one of the most hilarious performances out of “America’s Got Talent” (4 years ago).
Nothing on my mind today; what’s new. Let me share with you some neat cartoons, a travel tip and Don McLean singing “Starry, Starry Night” with van Gogh’s paintings front and center :
In view of the crazy world around us, I just felt compelled to get these COVID-19 funnies out to you. Also I have struggled to discern how the card trick below is accomplished. Help me!
When we were staying with our friends Roger and Nina Pitkin in St. Augustine this past week, I wasintroduced to a new (to me) YouTube celebrity, Amira Willighagen. She has an absolutely beautiful voice. The following clips are arranged chronologically from a performance at age 9, when she performed publicly for the first time at a “Holland Has Talent” contest, to just about the present. Enjoy!
If you are interested and have time, you can see a documentary on YouTube of Amira’s career at https://youtu.be/hHvDyd8Txd8.
I have also enclosed a clip for the TT guys that depicts the difference between Formula 1 auto racingpit stops in the 50s and 2013. Interesting!
Last, but not least, I have attached a short clip of a white peacock. I’ve never seen one before.
Home again from our adventure to St. Augustine and Barrie’s first COVID-19 shot. It went well.
What to say, what to say? I am running out of ideas and enthusiasm, but I’ll rummage about the house and the internet and try to find something to say, and include a few clips.
Well, I came up empty-handed. Just one of those days. And it’s a Friday. Oh, the good old days when TGIF really meant something. Now the days are strung along like pigeons on a rooftop.
Fred Biel has accused me of becoming domesticated. Guilty as charged. You will notice that I have added yet another Page to the Blog, “Recipes” (see Main Menu to the left). YouTube has a ton of cooking clips and recipes, and they give me lots of “product” to add to this Blog. Take a gander.
Enjoy the clips below. The last is a feel good clip, just what I needed to perk me up.
On the road again (actually for the first time). Drove to St. Augustine yesterday so Barrie can get her first COVID-19 shot (Pfizer). Stayed with the Pitkins in Marsh Creek last night. Will leave to return home@ 11:00 after Barrie receives her vaccine. Will be returning to St. Augustine March 11th for the follow-up shot.
Because we are in a “travel” mode today, I leave you with a couple of travel “tips”.
