Oh, how about some great habits of the modem Japanese people? I don’t see those habits necessarily occurring in the good US of A.Followed by a performance by the late John Denver and the late Olivia Newton John. And the grand finale? An adorable (Barrie’s word, not mine) penguin story.
Boring week here in Fort Myers, hot and sticky, but with lots of rain. Let me see if I can (attempt to) bore you with this Post.
Not much substance in this Post. However, I suddenly realized (slow learner) that anyone who might be interested in exploring the various topics and items contained in the website have not been informed as to changes that have been made.
Note: There is a new Flash Mob clip at the end of this Post.

Well, maybe it is not news at all, because it is too lateto be news. And it is late because of slow journalism. But, here’s the deal, the news.
The former residents of Colonial Heritage in Williamsburg who subscribe to this WebBlog (fondly known as the Tarpley’s Tavern ex-Pats) are all familiar with Martha Shoup, Julia’s daughter, who lives and works in Colorado. Click the ladies: https://bill2va.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/502C2B67-B21E-4B6E-9026-3304E96B7E09-scaled.jpegMartha is an honorary TT ex-Pat. On one of her visits to The Villages to see Julia a few years back she was introduced to Dragon Boat racing. What you say? Dragon Boat racing? See a short Wikipedia’s summary of Dragon Boats at Dragon boat – Wikipedia (yeah, maybe it’s a long summary).
Those who know Martha also know that she does not just dabble in what she engages (remember her past time as a Japanese drummer?). And participating in Dragon Boat competition is not just a walk in the park. Check this out: https://youtu.be/58hPWd3bUX0. Not necessarily a sport for the weak at heart, or for that matter, the weak of heart.
The weekend of July 24th brought Martha to Sarasota, FL, for the International Dragon Boat Federation Club Crew World Championships in 2022in which she competed over a course of three days. Suffice it to say that Martha took home (or maybe to Julia) one bronze medal and three gold medals, the last of which can be seen below. Good going girl!
As some of you know, Barrie and I have decided that out next home will be ”The Home” (a/k/a The Oaks at Cypress Cove) here in Fort Myers. Groundbreaking for the development occurred on April 18 this year with expected occupancy in December 2023. I’ll occasionally include in my Post photos showing the progress of ”The Home”.
Nothing special from YouTube or web world today, so below are some culinary tips for youto prepare for next year’s Cinco de Maya(I guess I am getting somewhat desperate in finding useful YouTube/Web clips).
On this fine 4th of July, a look back 50 years to the production of the movie ”Sound of Music” with a reunion of the cast in Salzburg. What could be more ”American Pie” than JulieAndrews?

In the meantime, two videos for you. 1) see the innovative treasures from our neighbors across the Big Pond. It’s rumored that Fred already has a few of the items in his stable; 2) after sending out My Post of June 12, 2022, I have discovered a YouTube clip of the Irish ”buster” of Dublin performing at the Queen’ Platinum Jubilee.
I thought that I should send this Post out while certain information is still fresh – sights and sounds of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Welcome to new ”Users” of Bill and Barrie’s Web/Blog. Same old internet address, www.bill2va.com. Hopefully I have put better content in this attempt at fame and fortune. The purpose of this Post is merely to give an overview of the Web and “what’s in it”. Lots of ”stuff”, but some of it is even marginally good. Below is a Navigation schedule (the Navigationguide is also available within the site). And the end of this Post there is a YouTube of the ”Old James Taylor” and the ”New Henry Taylor”.

Good afternoon, or whatever. In April, I Posted that ”the Blog” was going into ”time out” for a facelift or a shot of adrenaline. I have completed my nap, put a little botox into the tired ”Blog”, and changed the site into a Web/Blog. It still be found at www.bill2va.com. Please, I’m not looking for an audience. It has been a labor of love, keeps me busy, happy, and feeling important, or at least productive. But then again, there might be something at the site that you enjoy. Let me leave you today with the following thought – who said men cannot decorate? See the following slideshow.
