My Post of May 19, 2023

It’s been a while since I last Posted. I was really busy, alphabetizing my spice cabinet. Julia can tell you how arduous that task is. Id like to show you the progress on “The Home on Poor Farm Road” is coming along, but the Skycam is not functioning at this time. We are optimistic that we will be able to move around the target date of December 19, 2023.

First, however, help me out. Just what’s the big deal about artificial intelligence all of a sudden? It can’t be new! Why I remember way back in high school and in college my teachers and professors frequently complimented me for having a lot of AI.

Three clips for you today: 1) If you like chocolate, you will surely enjoy the first clip; 2) a series of sports clips; and 3) a nostalgic clip of how politicians were entertained in the past.

Barrie and I ventured a drive on Estero Drive in Fort Myers Beach today. We traveled first down San Carlos Boulevard and over the bridge to what is called Times Square. Then from Times Square all the way to Bonita Beach.

Let me simply say that photos, videos, and news reports do not do justice depicting the utter destruction. It looks like videocasts from Ukraine. Simply put, unbelievable.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOM

Let me begin this Post with YouTube clips of performances from the past – one such performance before I was born, even before Julia. I’ll finish up with a pretty good Christmas production – I know, Christmas has come and gone this year.

Million Dollar Quartet – Roy Orbison, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis

White Rabbit

The Cowsills – Remember them from the 60s? We were in Newport, R.I., at the time, as were our long time friends, George and Kitty Williams George was still on Navy active duty then. The four of us trooped up to the Munchner King hotel one Friday night and enjoy hot toddies and whatever entertainment might be on tap. It was probably one of the first performances of the band Cowsills (their dad was a naval officer stationed in Newport).

Bee Gees and Celine Dion

Old Man River- 1936

HAPPY GROUNDHOG DAY

Just in case anyone seeing my last Post featuring Don McLean and Bye Bye Miss American Pie has an overwhelming need to recall the lyrics of the song (remember, long song), go here:

When I search for subjects on YouTube to add to the Blog or add to a Post, the very last thing I would think of would be a Ventriloquist. I can hardly spell the word (“ventricolist?”). We recently were visited by our Navy and St. Augustine friends, Roger and Nina Pitkin. At some time during the stay I was asked to search for the name Terry Fator on YouTube, and up pops a ventriloquist. Roger and Nina had seen this performer on a trip to Las Vegas. I was amazed and delighted to see how far “throwing your voice” has gone. Sample his work and I think you will as well.
