HAPPY BIRTHDAY BARRIE
(My apologies for using the Blog for personal use . .. . NOT. RHIP.)
To Barrie, my lifetime partner and perpetual care giver, this personal message for your birthday. Words cannot express my thanks and sincere appreciation for saving me from myself not only over these past four years, but always over the 60+ years of Our Journey. You have had my back above and beyond the call of or duty (and as the lawyer in me would say, clearly above and beyond anything imaginable in any marriage contract clause).
Now for the rest of the Post:
I hope you enjoy the acapella genre. Searching through YouTube – what else can you do when you are more or less confined to a hospital bed with a fractured non-weight-bearing ankle – I discovered an acapella group, VoicePlay. The group formed in 2012 in Orlando, and is still active. The personnel of VoicePlay have changed out occasionally, but the music and performances remain rock (perhaps not a word to use with an acapella performance) solid. A number of their clips follow. Even if you do have the time to view all or any of the VoicePlay clips, please watch the last clip; it is so me.
One more thing. Some of us may remember the great Major League Baseball player and game announcer, Bob Euecker. Funny, funny guy. I saw the following clip today. Bob was speaking at his induction into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame, and he delivered a speech for the ages. Eighteen minutes long, but well worth watching.
